The 1920s is finally when women’s image changed in society. Women in the 1920s finally got to get better job opportunities. Women shouldn’t have to be categorized to just being a housewife and just staying home all day. Even though only a few women actually went out to get jobs, it still was a huge step for women. Women were seen as independent and career-minded. Women finally changing their clothing and their attitude are what the 1920s is really known for. Women put away their corsets and traded them in for short skirts and short hair. If women didn’t change up their style, imagine women’s clothing now. Would we still be wearing long dresses with the corsets and the hoop skirts? Women in the 1920s also began to cut their long locks to become more stylish. Women cutting their hair id what made this society have more style and character. Women began to participate in sports and drive cars in the 1920s. Being an athlete, a woman finally being able to participate in sports is very important. If women never participated in sports, I would be sitting on my couch all day helping my mom cook. Even though not a lot of women were “flappers”, women’s change in the 1920s led the way to how women are dressed and act in current society.
My Opinion on the image change of women in the 1920s
