In this cartoon, there is a picture of Uncle Sam, a American icon, using a shampoo bottle representing the Volstead Act to clean up the dog, representing Prohibition. On the dog's fur is the words bootleggers which is talking about how the Volstead Act was made to stop bootleggers. The cartoonist is trying to say that the Volstead Act is meant to get rid of the bootleggers and that they think that the Vosltead Act is going to get rid of all the pests and make Prohibition cleaner.

In this cartoon, there is a man chopping down a tree that represnts saloons. On the guy's ax it says vote. In the background you can see rhat there is someone trying to stop him. This cartoonist is trying to make the point that voting for Prohibition will just destroy saloons, a big part of American society in that time.
